Wood County

Dartball League

The Wood County (Ohio) Dartball League was formed in the 1930s and has annually had seasonal competition since the conclusion of Word War II.

The church-based league currently fields 12 teams from the towns & villages of Bowling Green, Pemberville, Luckey, New Rochester, and Stony Ridge.

During the 2018-19 regular season, 147 men & women participated in league play.  The year prior, 159 competed equaling the amount in 2014-15.  There were 145 that played in 2016-17 & 157 in 2015-16.

The teams play a 66-game regular-season schedule starting the first Monday in October and ending in March.  Afterwards a four-week, round-robin tournament is contested at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Bowling Green to crown a postseason champion.

Capping the year is the annual awards banquet held at St. John's Lutheran Church in Stony Ridge.

In December 2015, the league held its 2nd All-Star Fun Night at BG Church of the Nazarene.  The Home Run Derby has helped raise $191 for the BG Christian Food Pantry since 2014.  No event has been held since 2016, but may return in the near future.
